Knitting and other creations.

I started my blog in 2011, which was to be my year of knitting. I sucessfully knitted all of the gifts that I gave.
I learnt to knit at my Godmother's knee and have always taken it for granted.

2011 has drawn to a close but my blogging will continue, not just knitting but other creations too.

I Promise....

I Promise that I will do my best, to love my God, to serve my Queen and my Country and to help other people and to keep the Guide Laws.

I first made this promise as a brownie when I was 7, I have since remade my promise many times. On Wednesday 20th October, Thornbury District Girlguiding will be gathered together for an evening of celebration, which will draw to a close our centenary celebrations. At 20:10 all of the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders and Adult Leaders (½ million of us) throughout the UK will join together to renew our promise. It will be a time for reflection on the fun of the last year, what the Promise means to each of us, and to explore our hopes and dreams for the future.

Keeping my promise every day is sometimes a challenge. It is not easy to always do the right thing with a willing heart. However we do not promise to be perfect, we promise to do our best. My best will not be the same as my Guiding Sisters best. So long as we always do all that we can to be kind to others, to be helpful and friendly then we will be keeping our promise. This week as you face the challenges that are presented to you, do your best and do so with a glad heart.

Back to reality

After a fortnight of wonderful holiday, it's back to work tomorrow.
